English for Health and Safety
This course is targeted for professionals who need English to discuss industrial safety issues in their jobs. During the course, the students learn relevant vocabulary and phrases through practical exercises.
The topics in the course can include the following:
- Hazards and risk assessment
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Other safety equipment
- Working at height
- Fire safety
- Chemical safety
- Electrical safety
- Injuries and first aid
- Incident reports
Exercises will be used in the lessons to encourage the students to activate their speaking skills. In addition to the vocabulary related to health and safety issues, other topics can also be included, such as writing effective emails and giving presentations, or general language skills such as grammar, comprehension and reading. We will tailor-make the course to suit your industry, company and the students’ jobs. Because of the specialized vocabulary involved, the students should have at least basic skills in English prior to the course.
